3 Ways To Design Elegant Looking Glassware

There’s no easier way to turn your glassware from average to remarkable then with some colored paint! In honor of one of our favorite colors for August, we decided to use metallic copper paint to design 3 different elegant glassware looks. Keep reading and watch our easy how-to video to see our pretty designs, and learn how you can have your very own elegant DIY glassware in no time.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Glassware (in styles of your choice)
  • Glass paint (in your choice of color)
  • Paintbrush
  • Electrical tape
  • Scissors
  • Dish

For this fun confetti design, all we did was dip the end of our paintbrush in paint and dot onto the glass. We liked the look of the dots slowly fading as they got higher. For this look, simply add less dots as you move your way up the glass.

To add just a slight touch of elegance, we decided to make the rims of these glasses copper. Cut a piece of tape that will fit all the way around the top of the glass, leaving a small space that will become the colored rim. Once your tape is placed, simply paint the glass. Let it dry and repeat the process 1-2 times. After your last coat, take the tape off before the paint dries to avoid peeling the dried paint off later.

For our Art Deco look, we cut two pieces of tape and placed them all the way around the glass. We decided to go with a “tilted” look, so we placed the tape on top of the glass at a tilted angle. Once your tape is placed, simply paint the rest of your glass under it including the bottom. Let it dry and then repeat the process 1-2 times. Make sure you take the tape off after your last coat of paint, so you won’t peel off the dried paint later.

There you have it!  Now you’re ready to drink out of elegant glassware at your next celebration. Cheers!
